Two decades of Mid-Michigan houses

Matt has been fixing, building and remodeling homes around Hope, the Four Lakes and the rest of Mid-Michigan for about twenty years, the last several as LD Construction, LLC, with a crew that scales to the job. Roofs in April, decks in June, kitchens in January when nobody wants to be outside. Lake cottages that need to be buttoned up for winter and brick colonials that need a new roof before the next one.

The work ranges from a two-hour repair visit to a remodel that takes a season. The habits don't change: show up when you said, keep the site clean, write things down, and tell people the truth about what something costs and how long it takes.

How a job goes

1. You call or text. A photo of the problem or the room saves everyone a trip. Nights and weekends, text.
2. Matt comes out. He measures, asks what you want it to look like when it's done, and talks through options. No pressure, no salesman.
3. You get a written estimate. Whether commercial or residential, Matt will walk you through the scope, materials and price on paper before anything starts. Estimates are estimates, of course, but you'll hear about necessary changes in good faith if surprises appear.
4. The work gets done. And the debris leaves when it does.
5. It's covered. Workmanship on labor carries a 30-day warranty. If it's not right, say so.

Where the truck goes

Home base is Hope, Michigan, between Sanford Lake and Wixom Lake. Most jobs are in Midland and Gladwin counties: Hope, Sanford, Edenville, Midland, Beaverton, Gladwin, Coleman, Freeland and Auburn, plus Clare and the lakes in between. Mt. Pleasant, Bay City and Saginaw are an easy drive.

Farther is fine for the right project. The crew has worked in Traverse City, Grand Rapids and Detroit, and up into the Upper Peninsula. From Detroit to the UP, just ask.
